Description

Cover for book number 5 featuring Sweet Peach. She was actually the first figure I drew. I was trying to draw Willow but the proportions came out wrong so I drew Peach instead. The color was done in Photoshop as was her Heart and Star mark.

So, in book 5 we get find out how much I made poor Amiya suffer. If I ever do a Remix of this story she’s getting a better back-story to make up for the crap I put her through.

+ We open to find our heroes meeting in Mother Gaia’s throne room. They talk about everything that’s happened in the last 4 books and the month we’ve missed as they searched for Drachean’s heart. Consulting the stars, Cleo finds a good place to look.

+ Despite Hera’s complaints that it’s too cold, they set out. But some fragments reveal themselves. They leave Donny, Tomo, and Mike to search and go fight.

+ They battles the Bains and don’t fare well. Carlos wants to wipe the Blays out, but Matt speaks up for them.

+ They return to Donny and the others. They’ve discovered a secret cave where the heart used to be, but it’s gone. Worse news comes when Amiya picks up her phone. She has to leave in the morning, there’s no way out of it. She gives Momo her choker and thus a part of her power so she can lead the team while she’s gone.

+ Momo calls the girls to train but Marina isn’t happy. She disagrees with Amiya’s choice, is angry she just took off without explaining, which irritates Momo, but before they can really argue the Bains appear to harass them. Once they find Amiya is gone Carlos loses interest and they leave, despite Matt wanting to know where she is.  Once they’ve left Marina demands to know where Amiya is and Momo caves: She’s gone to her aunt’s death bed.

+ Amiya is greeted at the hospital by her aunts and uncles before going to see Kim. Kim is asleep so Amiya stays by her side. Her uncle comes and tries to comfort her, but all she can think about is how the illness is slowly destroying her aunt.

+ Momo and the other girls go to school. Liam shyly asks her where Amiya is on Matt’s behalf, but she won’t tell because Carlos might get some terrible idea. During lunch Tomo pops up for a visit. Matt comes over to ask again and Tomo—seeing his genuine concern—gives them a tid-bit. Amiya is the “Billion Dollar Princess” (Mentioned in book 1, chapter 10.)

+ Her father was the UK ambassador to Japan and married an American woman. When she was six terrorists bombed the embassy and her parents were killed, leading to her to move to Seamill to live with her father’s twin and governess Alice. Meanwhile, her family is slowly dying off from a mysterious genetic illness that only skipped the twins and thus Amiya. The illness also makes them infertile, so Amiya is the only child the family has. That’s why she’ll inherit all their businesses when they die.

+ During class another cache wakes and the girls head off to do battle. Despite Peach’s new ability to create barriers they don’t do well and are backed into a corner. Tsunami demands to know where Amiya is, but when Momo won’t answer he mocks them, saying she’s abandoned them. Momo loses her temper and tells the truth: She’s gone to pull her Aunt’s plug and end her suffering.

+ Back at the hospital everyone has assembled to pay Kim their final respects. As they talk Amiya remembers the first time she ever did this:

+ Amiya was 4—only knew fragments of English, enough to speak with her family—her great grandmother was in the hospital with the illness, and she was visiting. She understood that her great-grandmother was in pain, that when she died it would stop, but then Amiya would be in pain.
"I strong. Take GG's pain."
"Are you sure, Amiya?"
"I strong."

+ With all the goodbyes said Amiya hits the switch and Kim passes on. Finding a corner to sit quietly and digest her action, she thinks on how much deeper this pain is in her second heart, and something occurs to her. She knows Where Drachean’s heart went.

+ Amiya returns to learn that, learning where Amiya was, Matt decided they’d done enough and calls off the fight. Amiya says she knows where the heart is and promises to tell the girls later in the throne room. As she goes through school even Carlos gives her space. Later, Matt corners her:
Matt: "I'm sorry about your Aunt. It must have been awful."
Amiya: "It is always difficult to lose one we cherish."
Matt: "But it's not fair that you had to pull the plug."
Amiya: "Better I then a soul-"
Matt: "-That can't bear the guilt."
Amiya: "...Precisely....I wish Momo-chan had not told you."
Matt: "Why?"
Amiya: "Will you not use it against me later?"
Matt: "No, that's too awful."
Amiya: "Was it not you who said 'All is fair in love and war'?"
Matt: "But that's the part I can't figure out."
Amiya: "ne?"
Matt: "Are you and I really at war?"
Amiya: "Wh-what?"
Matt: "I think I'm falling in love with you, Amiya."

And that’s the end of book 5. Hope you like. I'm sad I couldn't write this but I have to be realistic, I don't have the time.
